Literary Amnesia

I read a lot and quickly--a poor combination for memory and long-term reading comprehension.* It's the voracious reader's bane, we don't remember everything we read. I'm not alone in starting a book only to realize 100 pages...wait, I've read this before...

Although Goodreads has prevented my falling into that trap in recent years, it does little for me to recall plot, characters, or even why I liked/disliked a particular book.

So in an effort to remember a few more of the books I read in the future (and be able to articulate my feelings about them), I'm starting a blog. An idiosyncratic irregulary updated blog to be sure, but maybe literary amnesia can be cured?
