Title: The Corinthian
Author: Georgette Heye
Date Completed: 10 August 2016
I love Jane Austen, but lamentably she only wrote a handful of books before her death. Georgette Heyer has often been recommended to me as an alternative for some Regency Era romance. The library has the digital audiobook versions of almost all of her books, so I thought I'd give her a try. I picked one of my co-worker's favorites from her large volume of work, The Corinthian. Well....while set in the Regency era all I can say is boy did it remind me of Shakespeare. Complete with cross-dressing, mistaken identities, and all the rollicking you'd expect from one of Shakespeare's comedies. It was entertaining to be sure, but was not the witty romance story I was looking for last week.
