100 years ago yesterday, the first (known) recording of jazz was made. The 1910s is not the usual decade I think of for jazz, but this fun tune is definitely danceable as the "foxtrot" label implies. It has the typical form complete with breaks and the horsey trumpet "neighs" evoke the playfulness that I love about jazz. I'm also a sucker for trombone slides which this song has plenty.
