Pretty Children and Mom Pressure

You often hear of the pressures of being a mother in these modern times as if it has increased. But maybe the pressure is the same, just directed in different areas. Mothers in 1918 were being told they were in charge of making sure their kid's faces met some ideal of beauty and that "bulging lips and protruding teeth are almost always a matter of carelessness" on their part.
