Spring Flowers & Broody Hen

Not a whole lot happening this week as we settle back into our daily routines post-vacation. That being said, we have been enjoying all the beautiful flowers that are blooming.

Also entertaining is the shenanigans of our chickens. Millie, our silkie, has gone "broody" which means she wants babies and will sit on the fake eggs for weeks. She also won't budge for the other ladies wanting to lay eggs in the same box. So they all just pile in there. Silly girls! We're hoping to get her a chick to slip under her as a surprise soon!

I also had a failed yogurt making batch that the chickens ended up enjoying instead. Lily Mae essentially ducked her whole head in it!

We've also been harvesting kale for our own preservation. Filled up 2 buckets this past weekend!

And lastly, I found this funny vintage library photo while creating metadata last week. Ha! I doubt we could get away with wearing a shirt like that these days!
