Don't fear the shears

There are many lessons to be found in the garden. Active participation in parables. A tangible grasp of Jesus's teaching to an agrarian society. Every week this spring and summer we have pruned and trained hundreds of tomato plants. Trimmed down to grow stronger. Pruned to focus. Strength found in less. Not snipping the vines because they were bad or needed punishment, but simply because it would make them more fruitful, productive, and healthy. Don’t fear the shears. As farmer must prune a plant, God must prune our lives and souls for His Kingdom. What's recently been cut from your life to your benefit?
