Fall brings more hygge

The trees outside are *just* starting to turn, but inside Kilby Cottage fall has arrived! It's one of my favorite seasons to decorate for each year. Colorful leaves, cute pumpkins and a celebration of harvest. A recognition of changing seasons and thankfulness for winter provision from summer's bounty. Fuzzy blankets and warm beverages. Hygge is back! For those unfamiliar, a few years ago I decided to adopt a hygge mindset when it came to the cold and dark time of year. That there is something to be celebrated, enjoyed, and anticipated even if the outdoors are less inviting. Hygge (pronounced hue-guh) is a Danish concept without a direct English translation. It's a quality of coziness, comfort, contentment, and well-being. Calls to mind candlelight, snug spaces, warm sweaters, time slowed. The cooler nights and shortening days actually have me excited for a season of hygge this year.
