Fourth Sunday of Advent

Today is the fourth Sunday of Advent and we light the Wise Men Candle to remind us of the light from the star that guided the wise men to Jesus so they, too, could worship Him, the newborn King.

My reflections on today's readings in Matthew 2 took a bit more of a humorous turn. According to tradition, Jesus was about 2 years old when the Magi visited. Using my sanctified imagination, I was trying to envision some of the toddler boys I'm acquainted with in the scenario...umm...Made me wonder what kind of toddler was so awe-inspiring that they fell to their knees and worshiped. No tantrums? No screeching? No "terrible 2s" behavior? I'll leave you to your own imaginings and reflections from there. Merry almost Christmas!
