Progression of the Onion

This past month has been one of hustle between extra work at the day job, travels on the weekends, helping my farmer's business behind-the-scenes, and not to mention making sure we have clean clothes and food to eat. One little thing that has brought joy day in and day out is an onion plant. That's right, an onion. At the beginning of this season of rush, it popped up a single bud right where I pass by every day--an invitation. An invitation to watch the small nearly imperceptible day-by-day changes. To slow down my soul long enough to delight. To pause to rest outside. To reset before moving on to the next thing on the never ending to-do list.
